In this episode, I had the pleasure of hosting Ed Gaze. Ed joined Lloyd’s in August 2018 following ten years as a consultant at KPMG and EY, specializing in technology and data.
He now runs the Lloyd's Lab InsurTech program, which is currently searching for its sixth cohort. His role covers all elements of the Lab program – from meeting interested InsurTechs and insurers through to planning and running the ten-week program with the support of the Lab team.
...cohort six we're going to have (probably again a remote program) four themes.
… (#1) one of them is Data and models, basically new sources of data new ways of modeling data. We love that kind of stuff.
The second one is Geopolitics. So that's the new one, and that's going to be tricky so we're looking for great geopolitics solutions things that would be relevant to Lloyd's Market.
#3 Climate Change. Decarbonization so that's massive on the agenda. It was going to be a theme last year but COVID19 came in...
Finally is Claims. We're working with the Future Lloyd's claims team and we're looking for solutions that can help us with that.
For me, it was a pleasure walking down memory lane as I had the privilege to take part in Lloyd’s Lab's first cohort.
